About the event
The Brunswick County Waterway Cleanup, an initiative of Waterway Cleanup Day 501c(3), is set to be the county's premiere waterway cleaning event and its second annual environmental initiative. The event, which is the first of its kind in the county, aims to enhance the enjoyment and preservation of local waterways for both the community and the marine industry. This landmark cleanup is scheduled to commence on Saturday, April 20th, 2024. To achieve its goals, the event requires the support of over 100 volunteers, who will work both on land and by water. The plan includes deploying twenty boats to operate across more than three sites in South Brunswick County, focusing on removing trash and debris from the inland waterways. The event emphasizes that boat ownership is not a prerequisite for participation, ensuring that all interested individuals can contribute to this environmental cause.
